Elves harnessed and honed their skills in natural magick. Faith is a huge part of Elven culture, as it is believed that if something were to happen to Yggdrasil, unprecedented and severe consequences would befall them. They pray for forgiveness in case of accidents, but also pray for better fortune, as the goddesses sometimes grant them. The bodies of elves were naturally stronger and bigger than humans. Their magical prowess however was restricted due to their larger size, causing them to be envious of the Fairies. Their jealousy of the Fairies was also fueled by Elves being prone to Ghouls. Ghouls feasted on Elves more often than Fairies. An Elf's large size made them slower than Ghouls, causing them to have been a more desired snack or meal. When a Elf dies, they are buried under Yggdrasil, as per tradition, unless that Elf has been outcast.

Well versed in innate magick, elves boast of their vast knowledge and wisdom. Comparably, they are slightly taller than humans and more intelligent, but lack the adaptability of their human counterparts.[break][break]
Elves are the leaders in Pavane advancements, infamously known as the 'inventors' of Pavane. Due to their inferiority complex towards the other races, they tend to keep the newest advancements of Pavane to themselves, but pretty much everything they create eventually becomes accessible to the rest of Pavane at some point or another. They are generally well-regarded in the community because of this, as they are the benefactors of the upper classes' successes by in large. They often think themselves above the other races due to them being one of the original races. Many take their intelligence to mean that they are better than the others, so high IQs are extremely valued among the Elven people. [break][break]
Elves can be divided up into the following sub-categories in terms of their position in society:[break][break] Inventor: Inventors focus on advancing Pavane's various creations and/or scientific pursuits. Elves in this category can range in their day to day duties and are usually the wealthiest of the elven people. These elves also tend to be the smartest of their race. It is considered an honor if you hold an Inventor position in Pavane.[break] Architect: Architects are especially talented with their elven magicks. They are more creative than their Inventor counterparts, so they are left in charge of architectural designing and are largely in charge of artistic expression within Pavane. They use their skills of transmutation to form elaborate, sometimes quite odd, structures and designs for Pavane. Their positions in society range from painters and artists to architects and fashion designers.[break] Advancement Advisers: This elven class really doesn't fit in anywhere. They are less intelligent than their peers and not very gifted creatively, so they are assigned to odd jobs like 'advancement advising'. For these jobs, they serve as editors for their elven peers, offering suggestions where they might be lacking in creativity, or suggest a new path or approach to their current project. It's a budding field and is massively looked down upon in general, but a few advancement advisers in Pavane have widespread respect within the elven community and their opinions may be valued over all others.[break][break][break]

Elven magick calls upon the willpower of the soul to harness what was first perceived to be underwhelming in terms of its utility. However, the Grand Witch as well as many elves at the dawn of Pavane suggested that their utility lies in a nature that many underestimate. Telekinesis, transmutation, illusory spells.. Elves can alter the state of many inanimate objects for their benefit in ways that the other races could never imagine. As a result, they are typically crafty in combat and possess many weapon advancement that can devastate an unsuspecting opponent. [break][break]
Natural magicks are soulful magicks, defined and shaped by the limits of an elven mind. Learned magick can be practiced ritualistically to attain specific, practiced, and sometimes spiritual outcomes, but learned magicks can also be cast instantaneously, often to less consistent effect. Unlike fairies, elves have the capacity to cast all types of learned magicks, only limited by their own imagination and intelligence. It should be noted too that experiences and expertise in particular areas especially shape this form of magick. Excessive use of this magick can lead to soullessness or uncontrollable aggression in elves. Learned magicks have been split further into two categories:[break][break]
Sensosomatic: Sensosomatic magick relates to feelings in the body and the mind. This magick has the ability to create illusory effects on the senses of up to four selected targets. For example, one elven chef rose to fame using a ritually crafted taste that he spent years perfecting. [break][break]
Morphology: Morphology magick allows elves to interact their surroundings in surreal and unique ways. This includes telekinesis, transmutation, or other types of augmentation. This is a more practiced magick among elves because of its scientific and practical utility. For example, an elf might use this magick to turn a knife sharp once again or a team of elves might use this magick to quickly turn a wooden drawbridge into stone. Typically, they can only change or levitate about two handfuls of materials at a time.
