poison lingers in her veins as the clock hits midnight

Elizabeth did not enjoy having to go out of her way to the rural and large home of the fairies; it was quite far from the witch's coven and notably not very compact. She would walk for hours before arriving and would feel winded before even showing up anywhere meaningful. All the while, she would wear a hood to prevent people from recognizing her and if the day was particularly hot, it was borderline miserable. She avoided this area at all costs to be honest. At least in Middle Pavane, after she climbed the stairs, food would await her (or Rei), but in this case, she was not so fortunate. Though, she would admit when pressured, the fairy was indeed cute and made the trek "somewhat worth it." Although she might say it, such emotional processing did not come easy to her.
Step after step, her feet and legs began to ache more and more. The fresh breeze and the sight of crops and livestock lazily going about their business filled her with an intense urge to rest for a moment. She would often pet the chickens as she passed by, so she went to a range she had often stopped by before to visit an old friend. Fredrick, she called him, ran towards her awkwardly when he saw her. She bent down and reached towards Fredrick's chest for some scritches. "There aren't enough people who care about chickens," she thought. "We all care about pets and cute animals, but no one ever shows chickens any love. They are just means to an end for most of their owners." As she tuffled the feathers of the rooster, it bawked and looked up at her confused. "I bet they're going to slaughter you by tomorrow, Fredrick. You are a boy after all," she spoke to him, "and then you'll be in the belly of an angel that doesn't even need your nutrients." She spent another moment with Fredrick inviting him into her lap. The wind's cold edge was nothing to her in her robe, but to Frederick, it was likely very annoying to be outside.
After Elizabeth had waved goodbye to Frederick, she continued forward to the Dreis residency. As she approached, she checked a final time to make sure she had the necessary equipment in her various belt pouches and checked her rucksack for the paper of notes that had at this time become something of a novel at this place. At the top of the notebook, a title was hastily scrawled on, the ink now smudged and fading: "Taphthalmia V." Confident she had everything she needed, she reached to knock on the door. "It's Elizabeth," she stated simply as she waited, thumbing through her notes once again. words: • tags: you • notes: Hi.

Kaimi's very dwelling was quite small, tailored to that of an ordinary Fae. Although she was slightly taller than most of her peers, the construct of the building wouldn't reflect that, as she slightly leaned down to open the door. At the very least, the inside of the household was much larger than the doorway let on. Emeralds flashed from the notes the Witch was reading, back to her expression. The same soul as ever. "Hi, Midnight."Her face already looked flushed when Midnight entered through, as though she had already anxiously been going over the appointment. In fact, she was practically stationed before the door, braiding and unbraiding her hair as she went over the entire ordeal. The injections were never pleasant, but the Witch's was. The only true soul in all of Pavane she could consider a friend. "I've been taking the last concoction every other day but I don't think it's helping."She remarked, closing the door behind the Witch before leading her over to the main table in her small abode. She took a seat and fidgeted slightly, recalling past procedures she would have to repeat. "M-Maybe you should come an extra day or two to check. Or I can go to you, whichever would, um, be better off."

Elizabeth invited herself in, setting her supplies on the usual desk. "I thought I told you not to use that name," she halfheartedly chastised the fairy as she gestured her to sit down. It was no surprise the last medicine wasn't working well; she was not entirely confident in her concentrations. Still, it was impressive with such a strong medicine, Kaimi was doing relatively the same as she last saw her. She prepared her tools as she gazed over to Kaimi, quickly grabbing her hand.
"If that medicine wasn't working, we will try another." She grabbed a powder from her pouch and walked over to the kitchen to brew some tea. "You don't get to come to my place. Ever. But I will be spending the next few nights here to make sure you can handle this new medication. It should improve your magickal prowess," she said as she grabbed the supplies for the tea. creating a small flicker of flames from her fingertips, Elizabeth ignitied a small flame to boil a cup of water. While it was heating, she made small talk. "Tell me, Kaimi. Have you been keeping up with your training? How is your health?" [googlefont="VT323"][googlefont="Oswald"]
