[attr=class, passengerside]Amy sat at her desk reviewing the records for the Council's previous meeting. The night sky was beginning to set, so certainly more incidents would arise tonight too. The meeting was brief, yet she had insisted the issue be approached more directly. They would discuss the issue further on another day: Angels, demons, and vampires alike vanishing as quickly and cleanly as the night would allow. No corpses had be found, but blood stains occasionally were at the scene...
Yet not one of these issues plagued her mind in this minute. In fact her eyes pivoted back in forth, reading the dreaded note again and again:
"Family of two missing, Ray and-"
Her eyes scanned those words again and again. Her eyes darted faster and faster, eyelids slowly widening and her breath came to a pant. Her hands trembled on the paper as a tear dropped down her face.
"I-i kill...I didn't..." She mumbled the words so inaudibly someone right beside her might not even hear her.
She may have repeated the same words tens of times before her clock rung the time. She had been sitting there for 30 minutes now starting at the forsaken line. She took a deep breath to compose herself again before violently crumpling the paper and throwing it in the garbage. It didn't matter if she had to review the paper before her next meeting. She would just waste more of her time on the past. Besides, her opinion on the matter wasn't going to change anytime soon.[break][break]
She spent no more than 20 seconds to make herself look presentable again; she had grown used to doing so at this point. She grabbed her knife and hid it inside her boot as she stood up before grabbing her "surprise" for her fellow council member. "Now, back to work I go," she mused as she pranced to his door.
Ookami Ankokku, the man currently holding the seat for the vampire councilman. Though he had been in power for awhile now - what, about 20 years or so now? - Amy still felt as if they weren't as close as they should be. She never did get along well his old man; he was wayyyy to cautious of her. Not that Ookami wasn't, but he hadn't seen her crush heads to get where she is like his pops had. To be completely honest, she was glad the nuisance was gone for good.
Her ruminations ceased as she reached the young boy's office, a place she couldn't remember the last time she had visited.
Knock, knock, kn o c k...
She held her surprise behind her back as she swayed her head idly from side to side. "Ookami? It's me! Are you busy? (Are you even here at this hour?)" She cleared her throat and fixated her yellow eyes on the handle of the door.
[attr="class","muse-text"] Ookami snarled at his desk, most likely loud enough for Amy to hear him from outside. Why did she have this uncanny ability to always appear when he didn't want her to.[break][break]
----------------------------------[break][break]
You might ask yourself, when would Ookami want to see her and the answer to that would be never. So why would she appear before him despite seeing him in meetings? He'll never know.[break][break]
His day started fantastically. After his meeting with the angel named Rin several days ago, Ookami indulged in some of his angel slaves back at his Family mansion. It had been a while since he took such delicacy. He usually settled for halflings or fairies but this time, he opted for a bit of celebration.[break][break]
Celebrating what? Not attempting to take a bite out of Rin sounded celebratory enough in his mind. [break][break]
Moving in, Ookami had made his way to his office mulling over the recent disappearance events. It was somehow getting worse. Whoever was causing this was creating a sense of panic. Rumors were flying around Upper Pavane and surely it would reach Middle and Lower Pavane as well soon enough. [break][break]
The fact that the ones disappearing were angels, demons and vampires alike made it even more troubling. Races such as those should not simply disappear. The newly found blood at the scenes were also worrisome.[break][break]
Upon reaching his office, Ookami settled his paper case on the side of his desk and took off his coat. He hung it on a hook settled on the wall to the left of his desk. Ookami sat on his chair and set his papers on the desk in front of him. The door to his office was directly in front and he set to work. Coming up with a solution to these disappearances was a trying task but Ookami may have just found a way. He needed to bring it up to the other council members but for the moment, he basked in the silence of his office.[break][break]
It was at this moment, Amy annoyingly knocked on his door and took him out of his reverie. [break][break]
"Ookami? It's me! Are you busy? (Are you even here at this hour?)" [break][break]
The vampire was tempted to stay quiet, perhaps she would simply leave? But he had important matters to talk about and this might be the best time to do so.[break][break]
He called out for her to come in and motioned to the seat in front of him. [break][break]
"Before you start talking about whatever matters you came to discuss, I'd like to bring up a possible solution to our disappearance problem," Ookami rustled through the papers on his desk before selecting one and pushing it towards Amy. The paper contained a general outline of the party proposal listing all invited parties along with designated roles for upper class members, "I propose we have a party, one where all citizen races are invited. Perhaps we should even extend the invitation to the witches."[break][break]
He leaned back into his chair and touched the tip of his fingers to each other, "My hope is that we might be able to gather intelligence on the ones present. Perhaps even figure out who is responsible."

[attr=class, passengerside] Amy had taken but a step into his office before Ookami had began to speak business with her. Well, he was an Ankokku; there was probably no helping it. She sat down in the seat before him crossing her legs and resting her hands on her right knee gingerly, giving an earnest smile at the boy as he spoke. She had hid her surprise on the seat, pressed up against her back.
She nodded along as he detailed his plan for the party, gazing down at the ground as if in deep thought. When he finished, she took a deep breath and closed her eyes, considering the choice.
"Ookami, you are more flustered than usual. Ahhh...it was a girl wasn't it?" She paused a moment to gauge his response. "Or maybe, it was...prey?" she snickered and leaned forward, but did not even give him a chance to answer.
"A party sounds fun!" she clapped her hands together as if to reset the conversation, "I am sure everyone would enjoy that. Except the witches. Who knows if they'd even come?" The Grand Witch certainly won't, and she was likely the one instigating this mess in the first place. In fact, there was no one else who could.
This plan was stupid. The Council did not know the scale or the source of the killings, and the party would not be able to determine that. Well, so it would seem.
"Should we not prepare security for the party? Perhaps people might catch on to what it is truly for if we do, however. Whatever you decide on the issue, I will support, Ookami." She locked eyes with him and grinned."Oh, such a big party will be fun!"she thought to herself again. She was excited just by the thought!
[attr="class","muse-text"] The vampire neatly ignored her comment about a girl. He'd yet to meet a girl that could truly fluster him in all his millennia in Pavane. Now prey was the correct choice of word but Ookami was not willing to indulge Amy at this point so he ignored that one too.[break][break]
"I wouldn't put it past the witches to be responsible for the disappearances. Perhaps they are finally tired of living below the plateau?" Ookami shrugged. All the suggestions he received from council members and Rin were valid ones.[break][break]
"Security huh?" He muttered, pondering for a moment. "Yes, it would be necessary but perhaps they should be dressed as normal participants, better yet perhaps they could be the ones supplying drinks." [break][break]
Ookami nodded, as always Amy directed all responsibility towards him. "I suppose I'll be responsible for the details. It's already been thought out so all that's needed is to send invites out."[break][break]
The vampire locked eyes with the demon before him and lifted a delicate brow, "I would assume you are able to handle that much? A special announcement or letter invites would do well. Consult with the fairies working for us, I'm sure they have some creative way of inviting everyone in Pavane with their magick. Including the witches."[break][break]
A moment of silence went between the two before Ookami glanced between the door and Amy.[break][break]
"Was there anything pertinent you needed to discuss? Otherwise, I have another appointment to get to."[break][break]

[attr=class, passengerside] Ahh, perfect. He would be taking the responsibility off her shoulders after all. Disguised security members. The young boy was more brilliant that she had originally planned for. What a powerful ally to have.
"I will see to it that everyone receives an invitation," she affirmed, "I have a few strings I can pull I am sure."
She quickly ran through the connections between the murders in her mind. She would have to be careful how the word got out and where.
It was of no surprise to her that Ookami would try and rush her out of his office as quickly as possible. He was a busy man, even if only in appearance.
"Hold on, boy, You can't just kick me out before I get a chance to talk to you about what I came here for in the first place. Don't worry; I'll be brief."
She revealed a neatly wrapped gift from behind her back, putting it on her lap. There was a big green bow on the top with a tiny note tied on the side: "For Ookami ~ <3."
"Today is actually your 200th anniversary on the Council and I figured you might want to celebrate, so I got you a present ((A box of very specially infused chocolates))." She laughed weakly, hiding her mouth behind her hand.
"I really appreciate all that you've done for the Council. You've proven yourself despite your young age. I am sure Takuto feels the same. Here's to another century."
She got up and immediately turned away, walking out of the office.
"Goodbye, Ookami. I hope I get to see your 'lover' soon. Introduce me, won't you?"
